On August 20, 2026, the WWEC2026 Worldwide Educators ConferenceParallel Session- Holistic Education Forum was held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC) in Shanghai. Themed "Sustainable Development Education in China: Practice and Cooperation with the CIFAL Global Network" the forum was guided by UNITAR and hosted by CIFAL Shanghai.

Attendees included Ms. Adriana López Mendoza, Global Coordinator of the CIFAL Global Network; Amb. Sungchul Shin, Director of CIFAL Jeju; Dr. Michelle Rubido Palumbarit, Director of CIFAL Philippines; Ms. Akiko Ito, Executive Director of CIFAL Japan; Mr. Hu Wei, Executive Vice President of the China Association for Non-Government Education; Mr. Ni Minjing, Director of the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum;Mr. Song Hui, Chairman of the WWEC Organizing Committee; and Mr. Wang Genxiang, Chairperson of CIFAL Shanghai.

The United Nations Holistic Education Growth Programme (HEGP) was officially launched at the Forum. The Sustainable Development Holistic Education Platform was released, and the HEGP Management Center signed cooperation agreements with China Blue Sky Rescue and the Nepal Everest Alliance. The think tank report AI+ Education and Industrial Integration: Empowering the Construction of a Strong Education Nation was also released.

Participants discussed topics including diverse, equitable, and inclusive holistic education and holistic education growth practices, exploring new opportunities for sustainable development education in China and cooperationwith the CIFAL Global Network.
