Vice Director Wu Shanshan provided a detailed introduction to the basic situation of National Occean Technology Center. It is a subordinate unit of the Ministry of Natural Resources and was originally under the jurisdiction of the State Oceanic Administration. After the national institutional reform in 2018, it has now become a ministerial level business center of the country. The center mainly engages in four business segments: ocean observation and monitoring, ocean renewable energy, ocean resource protection and ocean spatial planning, and technology and equipment research and development. At present, the center is promoting multiple important projects, including ocean energy technology exchanges with developed countries, as well as ocean assistance projects for developing countries such as Cambodia and Jamaica.

This exchange has laid a solid foundation for cooperation between CIFAL Shanghai and Tianjin National Occean Technology Center. Both sides have extensive cooperation space in fields such as ocean information technology, international cooperation, and sustainable development. CIFAL Shanghai will fully leverage its advantages in international training and cooperation, work together with Tianjin National Marine Information Technology Center to explore new cooperation models, promote the global application and development of marine information technology, and contribute to the achievement of global sustainable development goals. In the future, CIFAL Shanghai looks forward to deepening cooperation with Tianjin National Marine Information Technology Center in more fields, jointly addressing global ocean challenges, and promoting the sustainable use and protection of marine resources.
