On the morning of July 2, 2025, Seminar on Blockchain and Information Security for "Belt and Road" Countries a China-aid training program hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of China, guided by the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, and undertaken by CIFAL Shanghai International Training Center (CIFAL Shanghai), was successfully launched in Shanghai. Mr. Wu Yugang, Executive Director of CIFAL Shanghai, and Mr. Goh Choon Hian, Director of University Tunku Abdul Rahman (Malaysia) and Participant Representative, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.

Mr. Wu Yugang, representing the undertaking organization, expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Commerce of China and the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce for their strong support. While extending a warm welcome to all participants. Mr. Wu stated that this training program will focus on blockchain and information security technologies. It will introduce the development status of blockchain technology in China, share advancements in cutting-edge technologies such as big data, IoT, cloud computing, and AI, along with their integrated applications in information security. Additionally, it will present fruitful explorations and experience summaries from China and Shanghai in the fields of blockchain and information security.
Mr. Goh Choon Hian, on behalf of all participants, expressed sincere thanks to the Ministry of Commerce of China and CIFAL Shanghai. He stated that he would like to learn from China's experience in blockchain and information security through this seminar. He also looked forward to discussing the new developments and changes in blockchain technology and information security in the new era with Chinese instructors and experts, and to exploring the future trends of information security sector. Finally, Mr. Goh concluded by wishing the seminar success, hoping that it would foster enhanced cooperation between China and Belt and Road countries in the information security sector, thereby jointly creating a brighter future.
This seminar is the fourth China-aid training course undertaken by CIFAL Shanghai in 2025, and notably, the second multilateral training course for the Belt and Road countries of the year. It lasts for 14 days and has 33 government officials participating from 9 countries, namely Armenia, Romania, Gabon, Malaysia, Uzbekistan, Panama, South Africa, Ethiopia and Nigeria. The opening ceremony was presided over by Ms. Wang Kemin, deputy director of CIFAL Shanghai. After the ceremony, Chinese leaders and all participants took a group photo as a memento.
